FLIP HELSINKI 2026

 20.7. - 1.8.

Join us for the two-week long intensive workshop experience FLIP HELSINKI 2026 that is all about movement!

In 2026, FLIP HELSINKI offers new classes but focuses still on partnering and floorwork! Our teachers are Jarkko Mandelin & Luca Bologna (partnering), Oskari Turpeinen (Kinetic Orchestra repertoire), Akira Yoshida (floorwork), Mirva Mäkinen (contact improvisation) and Milla Koistinen (contemporary dance). Intensive workshops are suited for professionals and students in the fields of dance, circus, and performing arts.

The participants will be divided into groups that have the same classes but in different daily order.  There are two morning warm up classes to choose from: yoga and games/acrobatics. Workshops are held in English. Read below for the daily schedule, workshop descriptions and more.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How to reach the studio?

Our studio is easily accessible by metro. Our closest station is “Siilitie” only a few hundred meters away. You can plan for routes and consult ticket prices etc at Helsinki public transportation website: https://www.hsl.fi/en

Helsinki also has a convenient city bike system during summer: https://www.myhelsinki.fi/en/see-and-do/activities/quick-guide-city-bikes

There is a SAKA car dealership store in the same building, our studios are on the second floor.

Is there a kitchen at the studio?

We have microwaves and fridges available, so you can bring food and it can be heated. There is a basic kitchen, but we are so many that we cannot cook with stoves etc.

It is a good idea to bring a pre-prepared meal to heat for lunch each day. The nearest grocery store is about 1km away. The event does not provide food.

Is it possible to book a spot only in (partnering / floorwork / etc)?

Unfortunately not within this event. For FLIP we take participants for one week or two weeks of intensive training.

Is it possible to join only for a few days?

We only take participants for a full week or two. Other than FLIP we organise shorter workshops, usually in May and November, and we run a regular Sunday class.

Where to stay in Helsinki?

The event does not provide housing. For the full FLIP period, there are available AirBnB’s not far from our studio starting from 55€/night if you book early enough. That would probably be the most convenient option, and also the cheapest if you’re travelling together with a friend.
